| The Hummer Club has joined with the American Red Cross to provide transportation with their Hummer vehicles on a volunteer basis during times of disaster and need. Whether you live in California or Maine, you can be a part of this exciting national program to assist the American Red Cross. The HOPE program will certify qualifying members as Red Cross volunteers who can be deployed by their local chapters of Red Cross to transport supplies and Red Cross personnel into disaster areas where other vehicles might not be able to reach.
During the Katrina disaster, HOPE members provided medical unit transportation into isolated areas and distributed medical supplies, food, and water. Hope members have also been called out in their local communities during floods and other natural disasters. Program requirements include Hummer Club membership, basic first aid and CPR training, a short home course by the Red Cross on 'Introduction to Disaster Services,' a 'trail endorsement' provided by the Club and a few volunteer forms to fill out. The HOPE program 'trail endorsement' can now be completed when you complete Lynch Hummer's Adventure Driving Academy. Don't miss this chance to help your local community during times of need! Complete details of the HOPE program, along with all the information you'll need to start the volunteer process are available at http://www.thehummerclubinc.com. Join us and make a difference! Sincerely, Linda North, Hummer Club President |
